Like in every aspect of pediatric dentistry, there has been tremendous improvisations in the way we restore and rehabilitate the mouth which has been rampaged by severe early childhood caries. For anterior teeth, we have come a long way from acrylic or aluminum crowns, polycarbonate crowns, open-faced stainless-steel crowns to prevaneered crowns, strip crowns and now extremely popular preformed zirconia crowns. Even for posterior teeth, we are constantly striving for restorations which are more natural and tooth colored. One of the major reasons for the paradigm chance in last decade is parental demand. More and more millennial parents are looking for alternative to conventional gold standard of stainless-steel crowns. Even the generation alpha kids have an influence in this decision making. Hence practicing the contemporary alternatives is no more a luxury or only metropolitan city phenomenon.
