We all have been taught and trained about it. Be it undergraduate training or postgraduate training. We all are remarkably familiar about the components and the technique of it. But for most of us the last we attempted Rubber dam in children was probably the day of our exam. Amidst all the anxiety we were able to pull it through then, then why the anxiety now? When the uncomfortable question asked why we do not practice it regularly especially with children, we do not have a definitive or justifiable answer. Is it the armamentarium i.e the rubber dam sheets that tear; or the clamps that don’t stay in place or is it sheer lack of zeal and confidence. Whatever may be your reason; we are sure this session will rekindle the zeal, take your through real time videos and bust all myths surrounding the same. This is coming from practitioners who are doing all their cases under DAM.
This session is to revisit the significance of placing the most effective tool for isolation. The barriers in our mind will be tried to get away with it. Not only we will learn and understand each and every component in detail and its context with pediatric dentistry, we will also highlight how to introduce it to the child and the parents. Different technique of placing the rubber dam, how to tie the floss ligature along with trouble shooting scenarios and tips and tricks will be discussed elaboratively along with case videos. There would be dedicated videos on single tooth isolation, multiple teeth isolation, anterior teeth isolation and most importantly full arch isolation under GA. This 120-minute session will cover all.
